Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji descended to earth on 1st Sep 1909, on the Nija Sravana month in Saumya year under the star utharabhadra as per lunar calendar. He lived an exemplary life 100% dedicated for welfare of others.

Sage Valmiki enquires Sage Narada “Vidwa:n kah kas samartthascha”, is there anyone who is well versed in scriptural wisdom while also being smart in dealing with worldly affairs. That is a rare combination of qualities which Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji was bestowed with, acknowledged intellectuals of those days. He could ably educate and guide people from all walks of life to align with spirituality, they proclaimed. Swamiji was socially conscious from childhood. Bharthruhari described “e:the: satpurusha:h para:rthaghataka:h”, those are great people who live for the sake of others, unmindful of what happens to them. Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji, like Bhagavad Ramanuja, stands as such inspirers in our lives. Swamiji executed to perfection and with ease, even highly challenging projects, for the welfare of mankind.

Before attaining sainthood he took up projects for welfare of cows and cow protection; residential buildings project for harijans; changes suggested for reforming education sector; conceptualised and started Bhakti nivedana, monthly magazine for educating the masses, inspired and motivated freedom fighters, took up Ashtakshari maha mantra chanting at Badrinath in Himalayas, etc., These projects apart from showcasing his personality remains a source of inspiration to those who intend to tread the path less travelled.

In 1954, after being initiated into spiritual life as a sannyasin, he took up more such inspiring projects like Ashtakshari koti havana maha krathuvu, havan with one crore chantings of Ashtakshari; 108 Sri Rama krathus along with establishment of 108 swa:dhya:ya yajnas and 108 Sri Rama krathu pillars across the length and breadth of the country; Sri Lakshminarayana maha krathuvu with 1000 kundas, All India conference of spiritual intellects, 1000 Bhagavatha sapthahams, establishment of Srimath Ubhaya Vedanthacharya Peetham, etc., further testifying his extra-ordinary human capabilities. His long-term vision for guiding the society in a balanced manner in both spiritual and worldly affairs, is now being taken forward with such conviction by Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji.

We, as followers of his visionary path, are indeed blessed to celebrate his birthday at Nadigaddapalem, the base from where he carried forward his activities; at Divya Saketham and at all other places his projects are under progress.

Sloka for his remembrance…
