THIRUPPA:VAI
PA:SURAM 17
When A:nda:l walked into the mansion,
passing through the doors, she saw
Nandago:pa:la, Yaso:da, Krushna and
Balara:m sleeping. She wakes up each of
them saying –
“O! Nandago:pa:la who magnanimously
donates rich clothes, cool water and food
dutifully with a pure mind, please wake
up. O! Yaso:da: You are the most delicate
among the entire women folk like the
tender shoot of a water creeper plant.
You are the auspicious lamp that illumines
our Go:pa clan. You are our leader. You bestow fame on us. Please come to Your senses and wake up.
O! God of all de:vathas, You who grew very big chiseling through the skies and measured the worlds;
who is the controller of the nithyasu:ris, please wake up. O! Balara:ma, who wears a gold anklet on
his pinkish red foot, who is wealthy and happy with ‘experiences of Sri Krushna’, You along with your
brother please wake up.
Footnotes
[1] A shoot is the first to wither when any part of the tree is affected. Yaso:dha too has a tender heart like
a sprout because, she is the first to get distressed when any woman in the vre:palle is in difficulty.
PA:SURAM 18
A;nda:l thinks it is wise to specially
awaken Ni:lade:vi now, for she has
forgotten about her while awakening Sri
Krushna. So A:nda:l prays –
O Nappinnai Pira:tti, O Daughter-in-law
of Nandago:pa- who bears the physical
strength and might of fighting several
intoxicated arrogant elephants; who
never retreats from such a battle without
victory; O Ni:lade:vi! Who possesses
tresses wafting beautiful fragrance!
