We desire to sing praises of You alone, receive the musical instrument parai, and be greatly
honored by You; And for this the whole world must speak appreciations for us. We want to be
adorned by You with the jewels like bracelets, bangles, shoulder ornaments, earrings, anklets and many
other such ornaments worthy of being praised by the whole world. We want beautiful, silk clothes to
wear. Then, all of us together want to enjoy relishing with You, the milk and rice pudding full of ghee
such that the ghee in it drips down to our elbows while eating.

O! Krushna! We are ignorant folks who go after the
cattle. We follow them to the forests and eat our food
without sanctity. Though we belong to the cowherd
clan who do not possess even a little knowledge or
any awareness of good and bad, we acquired the
good fortune of having You, the personification of
fortune itself, who took birth as one amongst us. You
can fulfill all our desires despite our deficiencies since
You are complete in all aspects. Here, neither You
nor we can severe our relationship, even if we want
to. We are innocent children who do not know the
nuances of worldly etiquettes or formalities. Out of
immense affection for You, we called You with short
names. O! Swamy! Please do not be offended. Please
grace us by giving us the Parai.

O! Lord! We have come directly to Your
residence, early in the morning, to serve You
and to sing praises of Your divine feet which are
like the blooming, golden Lotuses. Please listen
to the benefits we desire from You. O! Swamy!
You incarnated in our Go:kula community that
consumes food only after the cattle grazes.
And hence, You cannot go away without
accepting our services that we intended to offer
You privately. O! Govinda! It is not for just the
musical instrument Parai, that we observed this
vratham! The Parai we desire is different –
