Who would win the battle? The five Pa:ndava:s
with a small army or the huge army of hundred
Kaurava:s? Many wise men got their answers when
they heard the systematic, harmonizing, resonating
sounds of the conches of the Pa:ndava: - army, for
the sounds which reverberated through space and
sky pierced the Kaurava:s’ hearts with utter terror
and fear!
Verse 16
“anantha vijayam ra:ja:
kunthi:puthro: yuddhishttiraha appears really beautiful with a cluster of gems
Nakulas sahade:vas cha hanging at its end.
sugho:sha manipushpakau ||”
Purport
Meanings Those sounds of conches reminded the
yuddhishttiraha = Dharma Ra:ja, who is very much characteristics of the persons blowing them and
committed to his duty, even if it is a war thus filled fear in the hearts of the Kaurava:s. Here,
kunthi: puthraha = the son of mother Kunthi
ra:ja: = who entertains everybody Yuddhishttira’s conch gave a victorious sound.
anantha vijayam = blew his conch named after Nakula’s conch was melodious. Sahade:va’s conch
anantha vijayam, the sound of which seemingly was decorated with a cluster of gems – for it was the
