HH Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji observed the yearly Cha:thurma:sya

Deeksha at Sithanagaram A:sram along with Devana:yaka Jeeyar Swamy of Nepal on July 15th. Every
morning the devotees were fortunate enough to receive the nectar of Stho:thra Rathnam through HH’s divine
commentary. It was followed by theertha and prasa:da go:shti. Then Sri Swamiji used to bless the gathered

devotees who visited him from far off places. Sri Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji started the deeksha at Sri
Ramanagar giving enlightening pravachans on Ramanuja Noothranda:di.

On Anda:l Thirunakshathram day (August 2 ) and on all the Fridays of the Sra:vana month, special pu:jas
                                                  nd
were conducted. On the Sra:vana pournami (13 ) day all the Vedic students had ‘upa:karma’ (Vedic ritual
                                                       th
of adorning a new sacred thread chanting Ga:yathri Manthra). All the texts they have been learning were
once again restarted by their gurus on this auspicious day.

Under the aegis of HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, a conference of Vedic scholars of the Mythra:yani Sa:kha
        - Ve:da Vidwath Sadas - was conducted in the Ve:da Viswa Vidya:layam of Sithanagaram from 2011 August
        1 to 7 .
               th
          st
Sri Bramhasri Parame:swara Deekshithar presided over the conference. He expressed his happiness and

gratitude to HH Sri Swamiji for reviving this Ve:dic branch, preparing the scholars, conducting research and
        preparing its printed version.

This Vedic branch would have become extinct if it weren’t for the efforts of scholar Sriman Thryambak
Ramachandra Joshi near Nasik Panchavati. In 1983, Bramhasri G. Parame:swara Deekshitar and Sri. J.K.
Kalyanaraman had learnt it. Later for ten years there were none to learn this sa:kha of Ve:da. In 1995,
HH Sri Swamiji sent four students of our vedic school who had already finished Krushna Yajurve:dam to
Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu to learn this Mythra:yani Sa:kha. Thus HH Sri Swamiji started its revival.

Those four boys returned and trained 18 more new Ve:dic students in Sithanagaram. Thus, His Holiness Sri
Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji reestablished this Mythra:yani Sa:kha branch of Ve:da. Not only that, our teachers
prepared ‘pancha:sath’ method to make the learning easier. This is in practice only in our a:sram.

Now this conference was organized to sort out the variations that may creep into its tune and words. All the
scholars compared the Samhitha books with the two old hand-written works procured from Maharashtra 9
yrs back and corrected them. Thus all the scholars worked hard all through the 7 day conference.
Sriman Murali Krishnama:cha:ryulu, acclaimed ‘HH’s services to revive this branch - are nothing but his gift to
the Ve:da Purusha.’ All the pundits including Sri Deekshithar and Sri Janakiraman commended our Mythra:yani

students for their flawless rendering of the verses. In the end Sri Swamiji offered His mangala:sa:sanams to
all the Ve:dic scholars and felicitated them.
