2012 June 16: Chennai, TN, India: Mr.Masanori Nakano, the Consul General of Japan
Embassy accompanied by his wife, and Mr.Tsuyoshi Yamane, visited HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar
Swamiji and paid their respects. They expressed their gratitude to HH for the help done by Sri
Swamiji’s organization when they were in trouble during tsunami. They said, “We are deeply
touched by the concern and help you have extended. Our people are deeply touched with the
help”.

HH said humbly “What we did is very little. In fact, the Japanese are always taken as an ex-
ample by the whole world for their work culture. We always quote how you work more hours
to express your dissatisfaction rather than boycotting or damaging the infrastructure. We adore
you people for that. Inspite of deep sorrow due to natural devastation, the discipline showed by
Japanese has surprised the whole world. We always take you as an example.”

They discussed about some common aspects of Buddhism with Sri Swamiji and informed how
they get inspiration from the Indians while believing in the doctrine of Karma, rebirth, avatharas
etc. They invited Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji for a formal visit to Japan to which HH responded
positively.

HH offered fruits and sweets to the guests and said, “Let the relationship continue in the future
days to come.”
